The fastest way to report a problem is in the app: More → About Moniora → Report a problem. It opens your email app with your app version and phone model filled in, and never includes your money data. You can read everything before you send it.

Phone requirements

  • Android 8.0 or newer
  • Google Play services, for reading receipts
  • Fingerprint, face or a screen lock, for the app lock
  • Notification access, for recording payments automatically
  • About 100 MB of free space

Common questions

Can you see my transactions? No. Moniora keeps them encrypted on your phone and has no internet access.

I changed phones. How do I move my data? On the old phone: More → Your data → Back up. Copy the file to the new phone, then More → Your data → Restore from backup.

I forgot my backup password. We cannot recover it. Make a new backup with a new password from the phone that still has your data.

A payment was not recorded. Check that notification access is on (More → Notification recorder) and that the bank app shows notifications. You can always add it by hand.

Log payments with Tasker or MacroDroid

Automation apps can send a payment to Moniora, for example every time Google Wallet shows a payment notification. Each one waits in Needs a check on the bell until you confirm it, so nothing is saved behind your back.

  1. In Moniora, open More → Notification recorder and turn on Accept payments from automation apps.
  2. In your automation app, add a Send Intent action with these settings:
    • Action: id.moniora.app.action.LOG_TRANSACTION
    • Package: id.moniora.app
    • Target: Broadcast Receiver
    • Extras:
      • amount, required: 25000, 25.000 or 12.50, in the currency you use in Moniora
      • merchant: who you paid
      • type: expense (the default) or income
      • account: the account name as it appears in Moniora

In Tasker, the action is under System → Send Intent, and each extra is written as name:value, such as amount:%amount. In MacroDroid, use Connectivity → Send Intent and pick Broadcast.

Samsung Modes and Routines has no action for sending an intent. Start a Tasker or MacroDroid task from it instead.

Moniora accepts up to 30 automated payments an hour.
